Tails at Twilight: A Night That Saves Lives

For nearly a decade, Tails at Twilight has been the Humane Society of Carroll County’s largest and most impactful fundraising event of the year — bringing together animal lovers, businesses, and community members for one unforgettable evening in support of the animals who need us most.

The event was first created in 2015 by then–Executive Director Charles Brown, inspired by a similar event he experienced in Tennessee. From its very first year, Tails at Twilight was designed to be more than a fundraiser — it was meant to be a celebration of compassion, community, and the lifesaving mission of HSCC.

A Growing Tradition

Tails at Twilight has evolved beautifully over the years, growing in size, scope, and impact. The event began at the Best Western in Westminster, later moved to Martin’s Westminster, and for the past two years has found a stunning home at Piney Branch Golf Club in Upperco, Maryland.

No matter the venue, the heart of the event has always remained the same — an evening filled with great food, an open bar, a DJ, games, and both live and silent auctions, all in support of animals in need.

A Legacy of Giving

From the very beginning, Barnes Service Center has stood beside HSCC as our Marquee Sponsor, sponsoring Tails at Twilight in loving memory of Marietta Barnes, a devoted animal lover whose legacy continues to touch countless lives through this event.
