Get Ready to Race!
Join us at Woofstock for a fun and friendly dachshund race benefiting the Humane Society of Carroll County. This event celebrates our beloved four-legged companions while raising support for animals in need. Whether your dachshund is a speedy competitor or simply ready for a fun day out, we invite you to participate in this exciting community event.

Classic Wiener Derby
For dachshunds ages 6 months–8 years. A fun sprint for young and adult dachshunds ready to show off their speed and personality.Senior Wiener Sprint
For dachshunds ages 9 years and older. A special race celebrating senior companions and their years of love and loyalty.Registration details below the registration form.
Registration Details
Entry Fee
- Advance registration: $25 per dog
- Day-of registration: $35 per dog
- Registration is limited to the first 64 entries in each age category.
- All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Carroll County.
Race Format
- Dogs will compete in timed heats on a designated race course.
- Race distance and heat size will be determined by event organizers.
- Qualifying racers may advance to final rounds.
- Race officials have final authority regarding starts, finishes, and placements.
Participant Requirements
- Open to dachshunds and dachshund mixes.
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old.
- All dogs must be current on vaccinations, including Rabies, DHPP/DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus/Hepatitis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza), Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- Dogs must be healthy and comfortable participating in a public event environment.
- Dogs must remain leashed except while actively racing.
- Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.
Race Guidelines
- Each dog may have one handler at the starting area and one caller at the finish line.
- Dogs must complete the course under their own power.
- Handlers may encourage their dogs using voice or approved methods but may not touch or interfere with another racer.
- Dogs displaying unsafe behavior may be removed from the competition.
Awards & Recognition
Awards and recognition will be presented to celebrate race achievements and may include additional fun categories.
