Payment Methods
HSCC accepts cash, checks, money orders, credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), and Venmo. Google Pay and Apple Pay available when donating through our website. Checks and money orders must be payable to “Humane Society of Carroll County.”
HSCC also accepts appreciated assets, qualified charitable distributions from IRAs, in-kind gifts, and planned gifts. Some gifts are subject to prior review. Please consult the HSCC Donor Acceptance Policy for more information.
Acknowledgments
HSCC will provide acknowledgment to donors meeting IRS substantiation requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. Unless the donor has indicated that HSCC should not send mail, tax acknowledgment letters are mailed to all donors who have provided complete mailing information. Acknowledgment letters will be mailed within 1 week of receipt of the donation. Due to the volume of year-end/holiday gifts, it may take longer to receive your acknowledgment for gifts made late in the year. Even though your letter may arrive after January 1, as long as your gift was made or postmarked on or before December 31, your acknowledgment will show the gift as having been made in the previous year.

All donated funds are used to support HSCC’s mission.
